| U Street/Shaw/Howard University Transportation and Parking Study
In 2005 the DDOT Transportation Policy and Planning Administration conducted a comprehensive study of transportation needs in the Greater U Street area. This study provides a small area master plan for the implementation of system improvements. A copy of the Final Study is provided at this link:
The project has now been transferred to the DDOT Infrastructure Project Management Administration (IPMA) for implementation. In the first phase, the IPMA will rehabilitate U Street from 9th Street to 18th Street, to include a new streetscape. The construction is expected to begin in Summer 2008. The IPMA is currently preparing blueprints for the construction, and this design work is now 30% complete.
On June 12, 2008 IPMA held a public meeting #2 to present the 65% complete designs and to solicit public comment. A copy of the presentation from that meeting is provided at this link:
